The Paddle, Pretty Please

An erotic Victorian Novelette

After a difficult marriage, widow Eleanor Tudley runs a tearoom in Brighton with the help of the exacting Lucas Warden, a former army Lieutenant. Things change the day he resolves a disagreement with her by sending her to a corner—and she goes!

Lucas’s cool knack for discipline is still sought by some who like corporal correction, but he’s never taken it to an intimate level. His feelings for Eleanor have been growing and, when a carelessly dropped list piques her interest in spanking, he can’t resist offering one.

The act releases Eleanor’s lingering shame and resentment, allowing her to move forward in life, but was catharsis all she needed? Or is she prepared to cast off restraint and pursue the man she really wants?

EXCERPT

“Honesty is the cornerstone of this sort of arrangement. If you are not truthful with me, then I can’t give you what you need.”

Her pulse pounded in her ears, drowning out her own voice.

“I don’t need anything. I’m only curious. That’s your fault because you left this for me to find.” She was growing overheated with guilt and discomfort. “Kindly don’t school me on being honest, Mr. Warden. If you wanted this conversation, you should have opened it yourself, not engineered it.”

“Guilty,” he agreed, nodding with thoughtful acknowledgment. “Would you like to chasten me?”

“What? Send you into the corner? Would you even go?”

“Yes. I rarely make mistakes, but I take my correction when I do. You may punish me properly if you like. There is a wooden spoon in the kitchen that would be suitable.”
